The Belgian artist, in her early forties, has a massive journey of techniques, photographic mediums and many experiments behind her. Because of the excessive and impulsive way of photographing regularly, she has a broad knowledge about the power of an image. "I want to see, to learn, to feel, ...to fly if possible. My brain is like a merry-go-round, filled with unfinished thoughts and a lot of chaos. I live fast, at high speed" Her Polaroids possess a pulsating vitality, positively as well as tragically and dramatically when it comes to her intense self expression, revealing inner processes, feelings, thoughts and memories, pondering about her place in the world, identifying as a mother, as a woman in society as well as simply being a woman, with all its joys and sorrows. The second most present work are Polaroids showing a subjective, personal observation of her surroundings, especially focusing on her teenage daughter, whom she captures as a young Lolita, a princess, an actress, a young rock star, a smiling happy beautiful young soul as well as a contemplative individual discovering the world. She herself states to concentrate on mainly two different aspects: "I am fascinated by the unreliability of the human memory as an instrument of representing a reality. Often memories are what we have assembled ourselves throughout the years. I tend to make those images that could be the later eventual memory of a fact." Using the Polaroid medium supports her intention by being an unpredictable capture of the moment, already altering the passed moment the second it starts developing, and from then on already starting the process of fading. "The second aspect of my work" she continues, "is where I re-invent my life in pictures. I play with what is and what I would like it to be. I investigate how small photographic manipulations can influence our view on reality"
